本次 UHD 原盘是 Dolby Vision(以下简称 DV)制作,为 MEL 规格,因此我们选择制作为 DV Profile 8.1 和 SDR 两种规格成品。关于 DV 的简单科普以及各种规格成品的介绍已在《摇曳露营》的发布文里有详细说明,此处不再赘述。如果你仍然抱有疑问,或者干脆懒得研究其中差别,那么 SDR 版本会是一个省心且效果好的选择。
原盘画质比较糟糕,虽然码率给的非常充足,基本算是如今动画 UHD 里最高的一档,但仍然掩盖不了劣质拉伸导致的一系列问题。由于使用了某种 AI 拉伸我们无法直接测得原生分辨率,但根据对画面频谱的观察以及官方的描述不难判断,本次的 UHD 就是由 1080p 素材直接拉伸得到的。线条部分除了 AI 拉伸一贯的深浅不一和大晕轮问题,还能见到明显的色度锯齿,以及原有锯齿被 AI 放大而产生的断线混合物。我们采用了激进的抗锯齿和去晕轮处理,并对色度平面进行了重构,虽然能解决绝大部分问题,但对于部分顽固的断线混合物效果有限,不妨将它们看做一种特效。平面质量也比较差,噪点被拉伸成大颗粒图样,甚至被强化成纹理,让平面显得非常的脏。我们尽量去除了原盘的脏噪点,然后重新添加一层细粒度的噪点以维持观感。由于本片细节丰富、动态场景较多,最终成品我们使用了较高的码率。
前五组截图为原盘和 DV Profile 8.1 成品对比,后五组截图为原盘和 SDR 成品对比。为了方便对比观察,原盘和 DV Profile 8.1 成品截图使用 BT.2390 算法色调映射到 BT.709 色彩空间。可以注意到,由于通常的色调映射算法并不考虑 DV 动态元数据,其映射结果和使用杜比算法映射成的 SDR 成品会有一定差异。
This time, the production of the UHD source is finished by Dolby Vision (DV) with MEL. So, we produced two versions of both DV Profile 8.1 and SDR. If you are curious about DV and its products with various specifications, please refer to the introduction in Yuru Camp. After that, if you still have questions or want to avoid delving into the differences, please choose the SDR version to make things easier while keeping a great watching experience.
The source looks relatively poor. Though it has a pretty generous bitrate that is basically the highest among the UHD version animes, problems caused by poor scaling are still apparent. We couldn’t easily measure the original resolution due to its AI scaling method. However, the spectrums for pictures and descriptions by officials indicate that the source scaled directly from 1080p. On the lines, apart from the inconsistent color and severe haloing, severe chroma aliasing and broken lines from scaled aliasings can be observed easily. We applied aggressive anti-aliasing and de-haloing and reconstructed the chroma planes. Though this can solve most problems, some stubborn mixtures of broken lines were only affected a little. So please consider them as special effects. Flat areas were also poor: noise was stretched into grains and even textures, which made the flat areas look dirty. So we tried to remove them and added a layer of fine-grained noise for a watching experience. Since images show fruitful details and lots of moving scenes, we used a high bitrate for the source.
The first five pairs of comparisons are between the source and the DV Profile 8.1 product, and the last five pairs are between the source and the SDR product. For a more straightforward view, screenshots are all mapped into BT.709 color space. It is worth mentioning that the standard color mapping algorithms don’t consider DV dynamic metadata, so the results have slight differences from those of the SDR mapped by Dolby algorithms.
